The SUB 12.17 EDGE uses a long-stroke 12" driver developed for the XTZ Cinema Series. A low-mass cone, sealed motor, and linear suspension enable deep, high-output bass with excellent transient response—even at extreme listening levels.
Reinforced fiber pulp cone
Lightweight and rigid to ensure low distortion and fast cone recovery at high excursion.
Sealed motor with shorting ring
Reduces inductance modulation and keeps distortion low during complex bass transients.
High-excursion suspension
KLÜPFEL-optimized spider and rubber surround allow extended travel with full mechanical control.
The SA-1 amplifier uses ICEpower® Class D technology with exceptional dynamic capability and low distortion. With 700W RMS, 1045W peak, and a 117 dB signal-to-noise ratio, it offers reference-level performance and precise control over the driver.
117 dB SNR, <0.003% THD
Delivers clean, powerful bass even in large rooms and demanding source material.
DSP with PEQ and EQ presets
Enables accurate tuning to compensate for room modes and placement effects.
Balanced and unbalanced inputs
Gold-plated RCA and XLR connections for noise-resistant integration in any system.
The 25 mm sealed MDF enclosure is internally braced and damped to suppress resonance and coloration. Its compact footprint, low-reflective matte finish, and gently rounded edges give it a modern, understated appearance that integrates well into any setup.
Rigid sealed design
Reduces energy loss and preserves transient response for clean, accurate bass.
25 mm MDF with full bracing
Minimizes panel flex, supporting high-output operation without cabinet artifacts.
Matte finish with rounded edges
Visually discreet and designed to blend into both cinema rooms and living spaces.
Whether you're integrating into a home cinema or a stereo setup, the SUB 12.17 EDGE provides multiple tools to shape bass response. These include three factory-tuned EQ profiles, a fully adjustable parametric EQ, and a flexible port system. Together, they allow you to adapt the subwoofer’s performance to your room acoustics, speaker setup, and personal preference.
Multiple tuning options
EQ presets, PEQ, and port modes offer different paths to optimize for room and taste.
Designed for flexibility
Works equally well in small to large rooms and can be tailored to suit your priorities for music or film playback.
The onboard DSP includes three selectable EQ profiles to quickly adapt the subwoofer to your room or content. Each preset adjusts the system's frequency response and extension characteristics.
REF
Flat response for full-range extension and maximum fidelity.
EQ1
Slightly reduced low-end extension for tighter bass and boundary compensation.
EQ2
Boosted upper bass for more punch and energy in dynamic content.
The built-in PEQ lets you correct a room-induced peak or null with precision. It allows manual adjustment of frequency, Q (bandwidth), and gain to achieve a smoother in-room response.
Adjustable frequency range
Target a frequency between 30–120 Hz to correct the problem area.
±9 dB gain control
Boost or cut as needed to flatten the response curve.
Compatible with measurement tools
Use room measurement tools like REW or XTZ Room Analyzer II Pro to visualize your room’s acoustic response and guide your PEQ adjustments.
Port Tuning - High frequency
With no plugs in the ports the subwoofer will provide a “quick” and “punchy” bass character. It will produce increased output higher up in the frequency range.
Port Tuning - Mid. frequency
If the left port is blocked and the right port is open, this will provide a bass with an increased output in the mid-region.
Port Tuning - Low. frequency
If the right port is blocked and the left port is open, this will provide a deep bass with an increased output in the lower frequencies.
Both ports closed
With both ports blocked the sealed box will provide a dry and controlled bass character.
