Der XTZ EDGE A2-400 ist ein Hochleistungszweikanalendverstärker, entwickelt für anspruchsvolle HiFi und Heimkinosysteme. Mit einer Ausgangsleistung von 2 × 420 W an 4 Ohm bzw. bis zu 800 W gebrückt an 8 Ohm verfügt er über genügend Leistungsreserven, um auch die anspruchsvollsten Lautsprecher mühelos und präzise anzusteuern.

Der A2-400 ist auf praxisnahe Flexibilität ausgelegt, egal ob er von einem High-End-Prozessor, einem Stereo-Vorverstärker oder im Verbund mit mehreren Endstufen gespeist wird. In the past I got several solid state amplifiers Radford Simaudio 250i etc and one tube amplifier the amplifier Primaluna Prologue Premium integrated. The Primaluna drove a pair of Magneplanar LRS. The sound was nice but not robust and tube amplifiers weights a ton they are quite warm temperature speaking. So I decided to buy the XTZ Edge AE-400. This amplifier is seriously built and deserves all the consideration in terms of power signal cables quality of sources. DO NOT JUDGE IT THE FIRST HOURS. It needs several hours to open up and show its transparency. The magneplanars are very revelling speakers and the differences with the above mentioned amplifiers is big. Its obvious that there is power in reserve. The sound is clear extended in the bass as in the treble the mids are clean without undue grain in the voices. For the first time the Magneplanar breathes bring a real life in the music. I give the amplifier 500 hours to present its real personality. The manufacturing is excellent the impression is one of robustness and seriousness and its so much lighter than a tube amplifier. I really enjoyed the Simaudio and the Primaluna and sonically the XTZ is a kind of the best of two world warm but precise precise image presentation. total silence mechanically and electrically despite a SMPS. The SMPS doesnt bring any electrical nuisance it cannot be heard during music sessions. In conclusion a high quality amplifier cleverly made precise AND musical which deserves the best installation to shine. Dans le passé jai eu plusieurs amplificateurs à semi-conducteurs Radford Simaudio 250i etc. et un amplificateur à lampes Primaluna Prologue Premium intégré. Le Primaluna a conduit une paire de Magneplanar LRS. Le son était sympa mais pas robuste et les amplis à lampes pèsent une tonne ils sont assez chauds parlant de température. Donc jai décidé dacheter le XTZ Edge AE-400. Cet amplificateur est sérieusement construit et mérite toute la considération en termes de câbles dalimentation de câbles de signal de qualité des sources. NE LE JUGEZ PAS LES PREMIÈRES HEURES. Il lui faut plusieurs heures pour souvrir et montrer sa transparence. Les magneplanars sont des haut-parleurs très révélateurs et les différences avec les amplificateurs mentionnés ci-dessus sont grandes. Il est évident avec le XTZ quil y a de la puissance en réserve. Le son est clair étendu dans les graves comme dans les aigus les médiums sont nets sans grain excessif dans les voix. Pour la première fois le Magneplanar respire apporte une vraie vie à la musique. Je donne à lamplificateur 500 heures pour présenter sa vraie personnalité. La fabrication est excellente limpression est de robustesse et de sérieux et cest tellement plus léger quun ampli à lampes. Jai vraiment apprécié le Simaudio et le Primaluna et sur le plan sonore le XTZ est une sorte de meilleur des deux mondes chaleureux mais précis présentation dimage précise. silence total mécaniquement et électriquement malgré un SMPS. Le SMPS napporte aucune nuisance électrique on ne lentend pas pendant les sessions musicales. En conclusion un ampli de grande qualité astucieusement réalisé précis ET musical qui mérite la meilleure installation pour briller.
The parcel arrived within a week after placing my order direct from XTZ. Opening the parcel it was obvious the amplifier built quality was no Volvo looked plain rough and sharp around the edges as though it was a product from the cottage industry. Fortunately those were the only main criticism against the amplifier besides the power output. In the past few months that I put into used it perform flawlessly without fail. In contrast a brand new Rega Brio R cd player someone bought and asked me to test it out had to be be returned 2 times to the shop for one to one exchanged because it simply wont read or read selectively. The third player tracked all the discs but lasted only slightly more than 1 year and during this time the top loading cover once fell off because it used double sided tape to secure it into place. p margin-bottom: 0.1in line-height: 115% background: transparent About the power output Icepower quoted power of 220W at 1% distortion can only be taken with a pinch of salt. My Yamaha A-S3000 rated at 0.07% THD@100W seems as powerful if not more powerful. I have the A2-400 partnered to a Musical Paradise MP-701 Mk2 tube preamp (6N23P X 3/Psvane 5U4G). My impression of the poweramp is one that is not bright nor thin sounding but lean. It sounded dynamic detailed and quiet. The mid-range is palpable with no sheen whatsoever. Treble is clear clean not harsh. Bass is strong agile and very tight. In summary what I like about the sound of this preamp/power-amp combination is its: (i) strong controlled and agile bass (ii) real natural and life-like sound (iii) the mids are not overtly forward like the in the face type nor laid back just nice to me and (iv) warmth. p margin-bottom: 0.1in line-height: 115% background: transparent Sources: DAC - Yamaha CD-S3000 SACD/CD/DAC player with Choseal OCC interconnect Lenco L75 turntable with Audiomod Classic 4 tonearm Ortofon Quintet Bronze cartridge.
